This Feeling – Poem

angry face

What you gave me tonight…

I am talking ‘bout this feeling

Didn’t drive me up the wall –

It did drive me up the ceiling!

.

I would like to say some words

Decent people shouldn’t share

I would also like to show you

How much I don’t care…

.

I would, but I won’t…

.

Not because I’m scared

Not because I don’t know how,

but because there’s enough drama

We don’t need another row

.

There’s pain on the left

There’s pain on the right

I won’t let your careless thoughts

Rot and stink inside my mind…

.

I must own my own feeling

I need to do it today

I can’t let your ignorance

Ruin everybody’s day…

.

I must dispose of this feeling

As if it’s rubbish or clutter

I need to save my strength for tomorrow

For battles that really matter.

Daughter of the World – Poem

Poems about women

She was a daughter of the world, my dear…
Who else did you hope you would see her be?

She was a daughter of the world, you know?
Yes, you knew she was – she did tell you so

By the way she moved, by the way she spoke…

You said she was the one, then you took her home
Aware of who she was – the daughter of the world

So why would you blame her for your fall?
She was a woman of the world, after all…

You believed you could resist because you were strong

You engaged in her deceitful talk – a little too long

She was falling; of course she made you fall

Extremely fast and extremely low.

You opened the door of your universe for her
Wide open – to be torn apart as she entered there

She was a child of the SKY –
A beauty of the Beast, but you… came

From then – within His beautiful temple

Right into the present – un-covered… in shame

Your muse was nothing less and she was nothing more,
but a totally faithful daughter of the unfaithful world

‘Wahala’ was her name. ‘Wahala’ she was called

She was a daughter of the world –
With all her heart, her mind, her soul…

Set her free… Why won’t you, baby?

Set her free… …In Him…
She is no longer who she used to be.

Meaning of “wahala”: Trouble 😳

I Miss You – Poem

Miss You Pic

.

You’re happy & well, I hear

Yet, I miss you… I so miss you, dear

Yesterday, I was instructed not to show my tears

It has only been a week, but it felt like years…

.

Yet, I’m not allowed to say I miss you

They say if I speak I’ll offend a few…

‘You’ve got to be quiet. You’ve got to be strong!’

They say it so loud without saying a word

.

Yet, I miss you like

Flowers miss bees & bees miss their honey

I so love you like

Banks love their fees & like bankers love money

.

Boy, I miss you like

The world misses lies & like God misses men

And I love you like

Writers love stories & like stories love to end

.

My hands need your skin

My nose needs your smell

I miss you & miss you & it feels like hell

And I want to cry, and I want to yell

.

Yet, I stay silent, although true to me,

I just need to wait. I just need to be…

Without you, except in my memories

Hoping that I won’t have to wait centuries.

.

See You in Tomorrow.

.

I admit. I have made so many mistakes

I have twisted my life with my twisted ways

.

I did things before they should have been done

I run when I should have sat. I sat when I should have run.

.

There’s no way to turn back the hands of time

What is done already cannot be undone…

Till it can.

.

So, stop dragging me through yesterdays

The damage is done, but I’m not done yet

.

It is not too late – these are only delays

Did I tell you I knew the Maker of Days?

.

You too need to focus on how far you have come

And stop crying about how far you must go, so…

.

If you don’t plan to carry on – stay out of my way

Your fears have been slowly poisoning my faith!

.

There’s too much at stake. l must walk away…

Doubts can only take us back to our yesterday

.

See You in Tomorrow.

I Pray that I Meet You There.

Story of a Broken Friendship

umbrella and girl

Once upon a time, a fine umbrella was left behind

It happened so fast, a man jumped on his train

Forgetting his fine umbrella

That had sheltered him from the rain…

.

Umbrella laid motionless on the station’s bench

Frightened it would be picked up & thrown in a trench

It was closed, no longer open, very very sad –

Unable to understand why life got so bad

.

It remembered the early days of flaunting its price tag

“Wait! You have forgotten me! I’m not in your bag!”

.

Questions and a guessing game forced it to contend

Yes, okay – during a strong wind I do tend to bend,

but I have been good to you. I am a good friend?

Could you please forgive me? I’m sorry I bend 😦

.

Confused, emotionally drained,

Silence feels so loud…

The umbrella bursts in tears

Whilst its sadness turns to wrath

.

“I’ve been there for years & lasted through many a storm!

Why have you abandoned me?! Did I not conform?

Will you now exchange me for a friend that’s fake?!

You know how they are – tiny winds & they break!”

.

The umbrella’s heart was broken & needed to mend,

so it wrote a ‘goodbye’ letter never to be sent:

.

‘Though I’m truly sorry our love had to end

Thank you for our time together

You were a good friend

I pray the Sun shines

When you’re off that train

I pray you are not alone at the time of rain

I wish you another faithful and a solid friend

One that wouldn’t break, although it might bend’

.

The end.

.

Oh wait, wait, not yet…

.

A girl sits down on the bench to wait for her train

She looks up & thinks, ‘No doubt, it will rain.’

She picks the umbrella up, with joy in her eyes

She opens it up & flaunts it in front of the skies

‘I’m back in the game!’ The umbrella thinks & smiles. 😊

It’s OK if You’re not OK

Our eyes cry the same type of tears

Our hearts feel the same type of pain

 .

I don’t need you to smile if you’re hurting

By His Grace, I can handle your hurt

 .

You don’t have to be strong all the time

You don’t have to pretend it’s just fine…

  .

I’m not scared of your tears. I won’t run away

What do you need? How can I pray?

  .

It’s okay if you’re not okay…

  .

You are still one of my favorites, on Earth…

Even when your mind doesn’t match His name

  .

I’m not here for your fame, or to cast the blame

I’ve made many mistakes, gone through guilt & shame

 .

It’s okay if you’re not okay… Yet,

 .

If you hide from me, do not hide from Him

You won’t drown in these tears. He will help you swim

 .

He will help you jump through each hellish hoop

As far as New York is from Guadeloupe!

 .

He is stronger than life, death, and night or day

He will show you the way to escape, so I pray

  .

It’s okay if you’re not okay…

Just Say “Yes” Already.

This post is about the importance of knowing how to receive. It’s about forfeiting that bad pride which makes you go without, all the time.

Is it needful to write about that? You might ask. Well, I think so. I don’t know about you, but I’m quite independent and often forget that I do need others. I’m used to doing what needs to be done when it needs to be done, all by myself. Though not always without a fuss. 😉

I was travelling, by air, when this very educational scene played out in front of my very eyes. A Spanish speaking flight attendant offered to carry an older man’s luggage. The man had two small bags and a laptop with him, but refused to accept the help. He confidently stepped out of the plane carrying his load, all by himself, down a very steep stairway. The attendant had not even finished expressing how orgulloso (proud) the man was when a huge commotion started all around us… You guessed it. The proud man (and his luggage) tumbled down the stairs. This was a fall with a bang, which looked very dangerous – especially for someone his age. Everyone rushed to make sure he’s okay, and thankfully he was. Phew! Yet, the whole situation could have been avoided easily…

Soon after the fall, a fellow traveller offered to help me with my bag, so I could focus on keeping my small kids safe. They were travelling with me, by the way. I was just about to say ‘I’m good, thanks…’ when reminiscing the other man’s fall, I heard myself saying ‘Yes’ happily. I graciously handed my bag over to the friendly stranger. We all went down the stairs and lived happily ever after… You know what I mean.

Why is this story so important though? Well…

If you don’t know how to receive you’ll miss out on opportunities.

Don’t be too proud, or too ‘orgulloso’ if you’re Spanish-speaking! Learn how to receive good things from good people, and from God. There are good things waiting to be given… to You! Yes, You. Heck no, I am not talking about being a freebee hunter. Just don’t miss out on genuine help when it’s due. Ask for it and accept it when it’s offered. Doing so graciously doesn’t mean you’re weak, and it might even save your life, one day…

Give HELP and know how to take IT.

Know how to Receive from Your Nearest & Dearest. Know how to Receive from Friendly Strangers too… Share Your Life & Your Load with others.

Just Say ‘Yes’ Already. You know you want to. 🙂

‘Enjoying life without anger and bitterness.’

Hi everyone,

I wonder if you ever felt angry, bitter, or just frustrated maybe… I have, on more than one occasion. As I continue to overcome these feelings whenever they rear their ugly heads in my life, I also want to share with you hoping to help increase your strength in this fight.

Upon the request of Defyingmentalillness I blogged a piece titled “Enjoying life without anger and bitterness.” (click) There is a way out of sadness, madness and so on… I hope that the path I found will inspire you to locate your own…

Love & Peace,

Monika 🙂

“Queen” @ Yadah Night 2010…

Excerpt from the poem “Queen”:
“Queen is bored with her own beauty and their phony love;
She no longer loves the king, and no longer hears from God…
The king cannot calm her fears, does not want to wipe her tears
He can’t save her and she hates him for he no more gives her joy
She’s exhausted in her rest and king’s words no longer work…”
